First-Person Shooter (FPS) games are ones that rely on First-Person Views and Aim & Shoot as main gameplay design patterns. Due to their need of computational power, they are either Console or Computer Games (the board game Frag is a simulation of a FPS game).
Although typically treated as a genre in itself, FPS Games can be seen as a subgenre of Action Games.
